Hallmark Jesuit Education

Xavier College Prep offers a challenging college preparatory curriculum, as well as numerous co-curricular clubs and activities and a full range of athletics. As a life-long learner, a Xavier graduate will be:

  • Intellectually Competent
  • Open to Growth
  • Committed to Justice
  • Loving and Compassionate; and
  • Religious

The basis of the Jesuit curriculum since 1599 has been the Ratio Studiorum - a broad plan of studies encompassing philosophy, theology, science, math, music, arts, language, literature, writing, history, sports, speech, and Christian community service.

All interaction between teachers, students, parents, and community in a Jesuit school is rooted in the principle of cura personalis (Latin for "care of the person"). This is the attentive concern and personal care given to each student, taking into consideration the development of his or her whole and unique self: intellectually, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

A second major principle of Jesuit education is the Jesuit motto Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (Latin for "For the Greater Glory of God"). This is, in fact, the very hallmark of Jesuit education. Xavier College Preparatory hopes to graduate students who strive, in all their decisions, to serve God's greater glory.
