ADMISSIONS INFORMATION 2014-2015 - (Applications are accepted year-round)
As a Jesuit college preparatory, Xavier looks for students with the desire and capacity for a challenging academic environment, a loving community, and an education rooted in a passion for justice and a search for "God in all things." In short, we look for a student who will embrace the qualities of what Xavier and other Jesuit schools call the "Graduate at Graduation."
Because there is no single factor that determines acceptance, there are many aspects to the application process. An 8th grade applicant will:
- Submit the online application (which includes $60 application fee)
(Application for 2014-2015 available online December 2, 2013)
- Sit for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) (see dates, below)
- Interview with a Xavier faculty member (see dates, below)
The Admissions Committee will review each of the factors above to arrive at a decision.
When do I apply for tuition assistance?
Xavier offers financial aid to applicants who qualify based on the family's financial need. As of now, Xavier does not offer any merit-based tuition assistance. To receive priority consideration for tuition assistance, tuition assistance applications must be submitted by April 14, 2014. These applications must include completed enrollment papers and a $500 enrollment deposit. You must fax your 2013 Tax Return and W-2s and download/complete Form 4506-T.
For questions regarding tuition assistance and financial aid, contact Fadi Germanos at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 760-601-3900, ext. 6129.

High School Placement Test (HSPT)
The first part of the application (which includes the application fee) is accessed and submitted online. It must be turned in to take the HSPT, which functions as Xavier's entrance exam. We will provide all materials needed for the test, as well as snacks and drinks. No calculators, drinks, or food may be brought to the test site. Although the applicant may take the HSPT on either date below, we recommend that he/she plan to come on the first testing day to ensure a make-up opportunity in the event of an emergency or illness. This exam is for incoming 9th graders only, and you must only take one. No reservation needed.
Students should arrive to Xavier by 7:45AM on the day of the test.
An additional test has been scheduled for April 26, 2014, in the Xavier Student Commons. Check-in at 7:45, the test will run from 8:00 - 11:30.
All applicants who take the HSPT on either February 8 or February 16th will complete an interview at the appropriate date and time below. Students should dress appropriately for the interview.
For students who apply after the priority deadline, additional HSPT and interview dates will be scheduled.
Please contact Matt Emerson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 760-601-3900 extension 6087.
Only completed applications will be reviewed. Admission decisions for those applying by the priority deadline will be mailed during the week of March 17, 2014. Upon admittance, you will receive Enrollment Papers. These Enrollment Papers along with a $500 Deposit and Tuition Assistance Application (if applicable, apply online) are due April 14, 2014.
