XAVIER COLLEGE PREP

Committed to Justice

Now more than ever, our children and our country are faced with moral and intellectual challenges that will shape our world for generations to come. A quality education is more than academics: we must build in each child his or her own sense of faith, compassion, moral strength and commitment to others. To do so in the context of their life-long faith base, the Catholic community, is the greatest gift we can give.

The Diocese of San Bernardino, the Bishop and his staff have been generous with their time and expertise and have pledged their ongoing support. Commitments to the existing Catholic schools and parishes throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, however, have made it impossible for the Diocese to provide financial support to Xavier.

Xavier began through the generosity of far-seeing supporters. The H. N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation provided the initial gift of 96 acres on Cook Street, just off I-10, an extraordinarily central location to all in the Coachella Valley. Our initial campus, an impressive 2-story classroom and administration building and gymnasium, have come into being with a great deal of prayer, with the vision and heartfelt determination of dedicated supporters.

Xavier’s Future

Through the generosity and the gifts of countless donors and those to come, Xavier’s campus will eventually include: over 120,000 sq.ft. of classroom space, a 45,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art gymnasium (already in place), a chapel, and athletic fields, swimming pool, courts, and a performing arts center.

As a Jesuit school, Xavier has a special calling to recruit and retain students from families of limited means, and, therefore, is committed to maintaining a generous financial aid program to insure that no child who has the potential and desire to maximize his or her God-given gifts, regardless of ethnic, social or economic background is unjustly denied access to our school.

To fulfill our dream, of needed facilities and a strong financial assistance program, Xavier students need partners (individuals, families, corporations and foundations) committed to enriching the lives of young people by providing:

  • Financial support for programs and facilities
  • Mentoring relationships with students
  • Opportunities to serve those in need in the Valley
  • Access to state of the art information technology
