High School Placement Test (HSPT)- Incoming 9th grade only.
The first part of the application (which includes the application fee) is accessed and submitted online. It must be turned in to take the HSPT, which functions as Xavier's entrance exam. We will provide all materials needed for the test, as well as snacks and drinks. No calculators, drinks, or food may be brought to the test site. Although the applicant may take the HSPT on either date below, we recommend that he/she plan to come on the first testing day to ensure a make-up opportunity in the event of an emergency or illness. This exam is for incoming 9th graders only, and you must only take one. No reservation needed.
Only upon Acceptance and Enrollment, students have the option to take the following placement tests.
Students with a desire to be placed in an advanced level of Spanish or French, rather than level one, need to take the Spanish or French Placement Exam.
Algebra I Exit Exam
All incoming freshmen will be placed in Algebra I unless a math level test is taken. This is equivalent to an Algebra I Exit Exam. The exam grade along with prior course completion and grades will be used to determine math placement.
