Robert Byrne

Bob Byrne is a Chicago native, and was raised in West Covina, California. Bob graduated from St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo but never took vows to become a priest. Bob toured with singer/songwriter Bob Hurd before becoming a campus minister at Mount St. Mary’s College in Oakland. He then worked at the County Assessor’s Office, and was recruited by Marvin F. Poer to continue his work in property value assessment until the company downsized in 1997. Bob then started his own firm, Byrne & Clayton Consulting, and serviced hotels and golf courses throughout the United States. He retired in 2014, and currently resides in La Verne, California with his wife, Susan. Bob and Susan have been married for 22 years. Bob joined the Xavier Board of Directors this year.

Adrian Davila

Adrian Davila Sr. is a Coachella Valley native from Thermal, who comes from a family of thirteen. Adrian attended Coachella Valley High School and graduated in 1987, after which he attended College of the Desert. He is currently employed as a Supervisor of Landscape Maintenance for the State of California Department of Transportation with 18 years of service.  As a supervisor he oversees 10 employees.

Adrian resides in Indio with his wife Silvia, who have been married for 23 years. Together they have four children, Adrian Jr. (Xavier 2015), Aaron (Xavier 2017), Audriannah (Xavier 2021) and Andrew (future Xavier 2026). He is excited to be a part of the Xavier family and looks forward to sharing his experience as a parent at Xavier to new and potential incoming parents.

Susan Harvey

Susan has been a licensed Commercial Realtor in the valley for over 23 years. Susan was recently recognized as the top producing agent for all of Riverside County.

Susan started her career in Commercial Real Estate in 1987 with Lusardi Construction Company with the development, sales and leasing of the Rancho Coachella Business Center a 280 acre business park in Coachella and the Rancho Coachella Vineyards Specific Plan a 240 acre residential specific plan. Susan was instrumental in application and ultimately the successful designation of the Enterprise Zone for the Easter Coachella Valley as well as the approval of the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport master plan for expansion.

In 1993 Susan along with partner, Paula Turner started Desert Pacific Properties, which for over 17 years has been a dominant force in Eastern Coachella Valley Commercial Real Estate. Susan and Paula collectively have been involved in dozens of major residential and industrial projects throughout the valley.

Monsignor Howard Lincoln

Monsignor Howard Lincoln was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest(Tacoma, WA), and has served as the pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Palm Desert, CA since 2001. He joined the Xavier College Preparatory High School Board of Directors at the request of the Bishop of the Diocese of San Bernardino in 2003. Before being ordained a Catholic priest, Monsignor worked in television and banking. He earned his B.A. from Claremont McKenna and has advanced degrees from Fuller Seminary, St. John’s Seminary, as well as an honorary doctorate from Santa Clara University.

Fr. Boom Martinez, S.J.

Fr. Joaquin Martinez, SJ grew up in Manila, Philippines where he attended Jesuit schools.  He graduated from the University of the Philippines (BS in Biology, 1986) and was a Science teacher in both public and private schools in Los Angeles before entering the California Province of the Society of Jesus in 1991. 

Fr. Martinez did his philosophy studies at Loyola University Chicago (MA, 1996).  He taught Biology and Chemistry, and helped direct the Campus Ministry program at Loyola High School in Los Angeles from 1996 to 2000.  Theology studies were done at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley (MDiv, 2003).  He was ordained a priest in Los Angeles in June of 2003.

Following ordination, Fr. Martinez did studies in Educational Administration at Harvard University (EdM, 2004).  From 2004 to 2007, he was Asst. Principal for Campus Ministry at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco and spent the following year in Tertianship in Boston and Amman, Jordan.  He served as President of St. John’s Jesuit High School & Academy in Toledo, Ohio from 2008 to 2013 before working as a vocation promoter for the California Jesuits.  Fr. Martinez joined the Jesuit Refugee Service as the International Education Coordinator in 2014.  He started as Director of the Newman Center at UCSD in 2017.

Deacon Larry McDonald

Deacon Larry McDonald was born in Nebraska and he and his wife, Karen, are residents of Mercer Island, WA, and spend the cooler winter months in the Palm Desert area. Larry was CEO of Gai's Bakery and the Seattle Coffee Company (Seattle's Best Coffee). He joined the Xavier Board in April of 2015.

Bill Powers

Prior to his retirement in 2010, Bill Powers had a long and distinguished career within the banking community. Following 21 years of employment with the Bank of America, Mr. Powers relocated to the desert. He soon saw the realization of his professional goal when, in 1993, he joined the First Community Bank of the Desert (now Pacific Western Bank) as President and Chief Executive Officer. The notable achievements of Mr. Powers' professional career are a reflection of his seemingly boundless capacity for hard work and service.

Mr. Powers has served as the President or Chairman of many organizations throughout the years including:

Bill has been the recipient of the following awards for his involvement with the community:

·      Red Feather Award (Indian Wells Country Club)

Mr. Powers has been joined in his efforts by his lovely wife, Anita, who is also a beloved community figure. The Powers' have been partners in so many efforts that have greatly enhanced the desert community. Together they have raised two children and are the proud grandparents of five.

Bill knows that the best way to give back to the community is through excellent service and that that philosophy has permeated his personal and professional life.

Robert Schein

Robert Schein graduated from the University of Arizona with a double major in Finance and Marketing. In 2007, he earned his Investment Consultant designation from the Wharton School of Business. He is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®), and holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses. Robert is currently a Managing Director and Partner of HighTower Palm Desert, where he leads the asset allocation, design and implementation of an investment portfolio review process. With more than 20 years of experience as a financial professional, Robert demonstrates a strong commitment to his clients and community. In 2008, he was honored as a top financial advisor by Reuters Advice Point Top Advisor and that same year, he co-authored a book, “Bridging the Value Gap.” In 2014, he was recognized as a “40 Under 40” Financial Advisor by InvestmentNews, and in 2015 he received the same recognition from OnWallStreet.

Service above self has been evident in Robert’s community leadership roles, raising well over $2 million dollars for local non-profits and having served on the Board of Directors for many local charities and education-based institutions. Robert is the founder of The Society of the F.E.W. and has vowed to empower women with education, support, and community. Additionally, Robert is a national speaker on the topic of financial education for women.

Robert resides in Indian Wells with his wife and four children.
