Friday, Jan 22 the Commons at Xavier College Prep was a place of incredible art showing. The 2015-2016 Advanced Placement Studio students presented their Breadth portfolios to family, friends and faculty. The Breadth portfolio is a series of twelve works that indicate the artistic capacities of each individual. It is the first of two portfolios required for the Advanced Placement course.
Xavier receives incredible support at The 7th Annual Xavier Golf Tournament Swinging with the Classics
On January 15, 2016 Xavier celebrated its 7th Annual Golf Tournament, held at the Classic Club in Palm Desert. This year's theme as "Swingin' With the Classics," and featured over 100 golfers and a packed house for the after-golf Soiree and silent auction. The Golf Tournament is one of the most beloved fundraising events of the year, bringing together parents, benefactors, and even visitors from out of state in support of Xavier's student-athletes.
On Thursday, January 14, 2016, Xavier received a $25,000 grant from Bighorn Golf Club Charities. Xavier was one of many nonprofit organizations who received awards that night. The grants were made as part of the Bighorn Cares program, which provides financial support to non-profit organizations that assist under-served citizens in the Coachella Valley.
Mark Granger began coaching at Xavier Prep in 2010 with a hope of building a program that would one day compete for championships. He won six games his first year. Five his second. Patience was required for this job.In his third year, his team won nine games, then peaked with a 14-win season in 2013-14.
