Frequently Asked Questions

Applying for Tuition Assistance?

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding Tuition Assistance.

Xavier is a private, non-profit school which recognizes that the price of its tuition is beyond the reach of some families. As part of its mission, Xavier's goal is that no qualified student will be denied admission, or once enrolled, be compelled to leave because of verifiable financial need. Therefore, Xavier depends upon various sources to assist all qualified and acceptable applicants by providing tuition assistance.

For more information on assistance visit our Tuition Assistance Page

The best way to apply for tuition assistance is through a link on our web-site, www.xavierprep.org under the Admissions tab. A link will direct you to a third-party website called FACTS to sign up and start an application. (The same FACTS account will be used later on to set up a tuition payment plan.)

You may initiate your tuition assistance application with FACTS starting November 1st of each year. Please note that you need to apply to the school prior to applying for tuition assistance.

You need your federal tax return and W-2s uploaded as PDF for your application to be considered completed. However, you may start and submit an application and upload your tax return later in case you don’t have the tax return available yet. Please monitor your email and / or FACTS account periodically for updates from FACTS about the progress of your application. An application is considered completed and verified by FACTS only when all supporting documents (completed tax return and related schedules, w-2s, 1099s etc…) are received and verified.

You need to reapply for Tuition Assistance every year through FACTS. Every year your application is reassessed based on your financial information and the tuition aid amount might change. Xavier is committed in assisting all families who display need. Xavier will partner with every family to keep Xavier education affordable.

If you miss the deadline your application will be reviewed after the first round of application review is concluded. Because funds are limited applying late may impact the awarded amount since Tuition Assistance may then be based on availability of funds rather than your actual need.

If you decide not to attend Xavier because of the Tuition Assistance amount does not work within your budget, the $500 deposit is refundable as long as you notify the Business Office of your decision within two weeks.

Start the application process and when your tax return is complete, submit it to FACTS by uploading it in a PDF format. Facts has a $35 service fee for submission.

Xavier College Prep makes use of the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Service only to help evaluate requests for Tuition Assistance.

Xavier asks families considering Tuition Assistance to honestly review their financial situation.  After a family has done this and has decided they need tuition assistance, they should not hesitate to apply.

When you receive your Tuition Assistance letter from Xavier, you need to reply with “Accepted or Declined” within two weeks. If you have questions call the school directly.

The school may request from you to sign an IRS form 4506 allowing the IRS to release transcripts of your tax returns to the school.
