Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, service, involvement, and leadership. New students to Xavier are eligible to receive between $2,500 and $5,000 in scholarship aid, applied directly toward tuition.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Submit a completed application for admission to Xavier College Preparatory High School
- Take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) no later than February 15 of their application year
- Apply for the Presidential Scholarship through the Xavier College Preparatory High School website
Selection Process
Finalists for the scholarship will be invited to interview with the Presidential Scholarship Panel.
Students will be evaluated on:
- Academic excellence
- Service to the community
- Active involvement in school and community life
- A personal statement demonstrating why they are an ideal candidate for the Presidential Scholarship, highlighting their achievements, character, and leadership potential
- A letter of recommendation from an individual who is not related to the student expectations of scholars.
In addition to receiving financial aid, Presidential Scholars are expected to:
- Serve on the President’s Advisory Council
- Attend quarterly meetings in the President's Office
- Represent the school at three school events each year (Open House, Information Nights, various donor events)
- Participate in two co-curricular events/activities each school year
- Submit an end-of-year reflection letter to the Scholarship Committee for review & renewal
Founders Scholarship
Xavier College Preparatory is pleased to offer the Founders Scholarship, a $2,000 scholarship given to the top-performing student from each Coachella Valley middle school who takes the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at Xavier.
To qualify, students must have a fully submitted application and must complete the HSPT no later than February 15 of their application year. Each recipient will receive a $2,000 scholarship, reviewed and renewable each year of enrollment at Xavier College Preparatory.
We recognize that performance levels may vary from school to school. Our goal is to honor genuine academic achievement, while also ensuring fairness across the valley. In certain cases, Xavier may use discretion in determining recipients so that the scholarship reflects both strong effort and meaningful accomplishment.
Diocese of San Bernardino Parish Scholarship
The Diocese of San Bernardino Parish Scholarship is awarded to one incoming student from each diocesan parish who demonstrates active involvement and good standing within their Catholic parish located in the Diocese of San Bernardino. Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application by February 15, which includes:
- A letter of recommendation from their parish priest detailing parish involvement
- A personal testimonial highlighting their service to the community and parish involvement
- A current student transcript
- A letter of recommendation from an individual who is not related to the student
This scholarship recognizes students who exemplify faith, service, and leadership within their parish communities. The recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship, reviewed and renewable each year of enrollment at Xavier College Preparatory.
Catholic Educator Scholarship
The Catholic Educator Scholarship is awarded to incoming students whose parent or legal guardian is employed as a Catholic school educator. Recipients will receive a $5,000 scholarship, renewable annually pending verification of continued employment within Catholic education. This scholarship honors the dedication and service of Catholic educators and supports their families in pursuing a faith-based, college preparatory education.
Public Educator/First Responder Scholarship
The Public Educator/First Responder Scholarship is awarded to incoming students whose parent or legal guardian is employed as a public educator or first responder. Recipients receive a $1,500 scholarship, renewable annually pending verification of continued employment in a qualifying role. This scholarship recognizes the vital service of educators and first responders and supports their families in accessing a values-based, college-preparatory education.
