Applications for the Class of 2030 and transfers are now open!

Interested in attending Xavier? Come check us out through our Shadow a Saint and/or Saints Discovery Program.

Our shadow program provides interested 8th, 9th or 10th- grade students an opportunity to experience a typical day at Xavier. Our guests will attend classes, meet teachers, coaches, counselors, and get to know our Xavier community. Shadowing is not mandatory, but it is a great opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a Xavier student. The number of shadow guests is capped at four per day. Shadow-a-Saint begins Tuesday, September 23rd.

*NEW!* The Saints Discovery Program is a cohort based immersive experience for both students and parents who want an inside look at the Xavier Prep community. Once a month, we will host up to 25 prospective Saints for a half day of excitement, fun and discovery. Students will experience both curricular and co-curricular life, building connections and seeing what it means to be a Saint. Parents are invited to a reception with our Administration and Director of Admissions to be in communication and see Xavier from a different perspective.

All eighth graders (in Fall 2025) applying to Xavier's Class of 2030 are required to take an entrance exam. We use the High School Placement Test or “HSPT” entrance exam by Scholastic Testing Services. It is a five-part, multiple-choice test of verbal, quantitative, reading, mathematics and language skills. The exam takes approximately 3 ½ hours and contains about 300 questions designed to see how well an eighth-grade student performs academically. Students are allowed to take the exam only once. Students must register in advance to reserve a seat for the Entrance Exam. You do not need to bring anything to the test. We provide all that is required. Application must be submitted before taking the HSPT.

Please note: Extended time and other accommodations for the required HSPT Entrance Exam offered at Xavier on December 6, January 25, and February 7 are available to those students who qualify. To receive the additional testing time, an applicant must submit a current IEP (Individualized Educational Plan), 504 plan, or Student Support Plan describing the specific accommodations. All conversations, as well as all accommodations given, are confidential.

Available Test Dates: Application must be submitted before taking the HSPT.
